Names are funny things. They are very meaningful and yet really convey no intrinsic description of their subject. This is exempting a few naming-traditions that do seek more accuracy; such as adding “Jr.” or “-son”, or even the practice of delaying the issuance of names until later in life. There is a long tradition among many cultures of using names to indicate lineage. In Canada today, this usually means the using the Surname to indicate a patrilineal kinship. But this is by no means the only method for determining surnames. We see an increasing number of hyphenated last names nowadays, for instance.

Unique, but short, and relatively easy to spell.
